Island Mljet is rightfully considered the greenest island of Adriatic and with 2500 sunny hours yearly it is also one of the sunniest islans in Adriatic sea.
37 km long and 3 km average width, With a surface of 100,4 Mljet is the eighth largest Croatian island. National park was declared in 1960 in the northwestern part of the island and occupies about 30 % of the island. But National park area is 5375 hectares.
Mljet lakes are unique in the world. In Big lake there is St. Mary's island with Benedictin monastery and church from 12th century.
Mljet is covered with wild native forest that covered much of the Mediterranean but today we can rarely find it.
Excursions depart several times a week from Korcula and Lumbarda and you can choose a boat or a speedboat excursion.
